Class Description: A continuing walk-in class open to all Mac West members. This class provides"how to" demonstrations as well as other information about using the Mac OS 10 system and other selected software. The classes also cover required Mac computer maintenance. This free class is open to new users as well as members that want to improve their Mac knowledge and skills.

Class Description:Description: This class is for beginners and at the first session we will cover setting up a spreadsheet and using the features of the tool bar. At the second session we will work on setting up charts for record keeping, i.e blood pressure sugar levels, medical expenses, donations, hobbies, etc.

iPad Basics
Class Description: This is an introductory class for iPad owners. You have to bring your own iPad to the class. This class is two session and you must register online prior to first class

Garage Band....................February 21 and 24
Class Description: Intended for people who would like to create songs using Garageband. This class will allow students to learn and practice some of the basic features and tools provided in Garageband. The class will consist of two sessions and last two hours each. Students who would like a heads up on the class can watch the video of the instructor's Garageband presentation by clicking on the "Learn-it" tab on the Macswest website. The instructor will generally be demonstrating the same features as in the presentation, but in more depth, while students, hands-on, can practice the steps on the lab computers. To keep the progress of the class moving together and efficiently, students should, and only need, very basic knowledge of music. If you can play at least one song on the piano with a couple chords, know the "C" scale, and have a creative and curious spirit, you're ready for the class.
Class limited to 8 students. All will use the lab computers.
Prerequisites: Mac Basics class or a working knowledge of the menu bar and its uses.

Keynote Workshop ...........March 5, 8 Two session class
Class Description: In this class we will work through the process of creating a small keynote production. We will use transitions, themes and audio. I will help students size pictures, create nice transitions and title slides. I will have ten pictures loaded on the computers to practice with. You can bring your own ten pictures on a flash drive to use. Students should be experienced in basic computer skills.

Mac Basics ----------March 13, 15, 20 & 22 Four session class
Class Description: The class covers, getting around on the desktop using the Menu Bar; how to customize your machine for desktop pictures, adjusting mouse, dock, sound and dashboard to your preference. There is a brief exercise with text edit to become familiar with fonts and using cut, copy and paste. This class is 4 sessions
