Organized to help club members with both basic computer learning and machine operating problems.
MacHelp sessions are walk-in/no-signup meetings in Room C every Wednesday at 10:30 am for 2 hours from September through May.
Learning Lab (by
Sally Bregar)
Learning help is primarily for new users following
tutorials from Apple Inc, or other sources, for basic
operating programs such as Mail, Address Book, iWork,
Safari, etc. The tutorials are usually viewed on the
Room C teaching machines with audio from individual
headphones. Experienced MW users can also benefit by
viewing selected tutorials as refreshers.
Machine Problems (by
Ron Watson & others)
Help with machine problems varies considerably
depending on the severity of the problem. MW users with
operating problems should bring their computers (with
power supplies for laptops) to Room C during the
Wednesday 10:30 period to demonstrate the problem.
There, selected MW "troubleshooters" will attempt to
repair the problem and give advice on how to avoid
future reoccurrences. When requesting software
operating assistance, members are asked to bring the
original computer installation disks and any software
disks for which there are problems. If possible, bring
a Screen Shot (comm-shift-4) printout of your problem
to assist in a diagnosis.
